At first I liked this concept for a record, releasing what most would call "demo versions" of songs as an album. As I was tracking I realized that I'm going to wanna do this again because it's such a pure, direct way to hear a batch of songs. The record then turned into a "project" or as I call it, an alter-ego. The word Murgatroyd has no official meaning, which I like cause I can do anything with it. It was first uttered by Bert Lahr in a 1944 film called "Meet The People," but most recall it from Snagglepuss (a Lahr-inspired character). The live shows for this band/ego will be as simple and intimate as the record, probably just me and a guitar...
