Additional Information Member of ASCAP since 1992 Member of EQUITY since 2003 Artist Description OLIVIA HARRIS, a native of Durham, North Carolina started her singing career at the age of six singing on WSRC radio station for the T. Ruth Gospel Hour. She has performed at colleges, hotels, toured nationally and internationally. Olivia did the Marvelletes Tour touring such places as England, Belgium, Holland, France and Germany. She has shared the stage touring with such artists as Joe Tex, Lonnie Youngblood, Barbara McNair, Cissy Houston, Joe Frasier, Sherman Helmsley, Dennis Day, and Tiny Tim. Also while working as a new member of the Marvelettes group with Banner Agency, she performed at festivals with acts from the Rock “N” Roll era hosted by Wolfman Jack, on stage with such greats as the Righteous Brothers, The Shirelles, Five Satins, Coasters, Ben E. King, Little Anthony, Bo Diddley, just to name a few. Most of the tours were performed in many of the cities and states of this country. Olivia feels that she gained a lot of experience while working in the midst of such great artist from another generation where there were such great legends. Olivia’s studio background sessions included sessions with Roy Ayers and Stevie Wonder. She also produced and performed her own one-woman shows at The Duplex, The Cellar, Mikels, Le Bar Bat to name a few of the spots in New York. A recording was of “Good Luv, Sho Enuff” was recorded in the Sigma Studios in Philadelphia, PA. Other credits consist of film work, TV, Broadway and Off Broadway. Broadway credits are “Broadway Soul” produced by Chapman Roberts starring Savion Glover, Clarice Taylor’s Mom’s Mabley and Her Ladies, Vy Higginson’s Gospel Theater, Dr. Moses Telford’s Academy Choir, Sinatra and His Voice.
