I have been very fortunate in my l life to have the opportunity to not only meet, but become friends with some of my heroes. As a child, I looked up to my Dad and wanted to sing and play just like him. As I grew older I became curious about the history of the music. I began to research all the artists I loved such as Ray Price, Faron Young, Johnny Bush, Darrell McCall and many others. As I furthered my research I began to realize that the musicians were the driving force behind the success of the records. The elite group I am speaking of was known as Nashville’s “A” Team. This group created the sound that launched countless hits. This group consisted of bassist, Bob “The King” Moore, drummer, Buddy Harmon, pianist, Hargus “Pig” Robbins, guitarists, Grady Martin, Pete Wade, Ray Edenton, Harold Bradley, Jimmy Capps, Steel Players, Buddy Emmons, Jimmy Day, Weldon Myrick, Pete Drake, Hal Rugg, Lloyd Green, fiddle players, Tommy Jackson, Buddy Spicher, Shorty Lavendar and the man behind it all, The Godfather, Owen Bradley. Of course, there were others but these were the players that were consistently featured on thousands of recordings. These are the men I studied (especially the rhythm section) and they are the foundation to the sound. No one has EVER done it better.

I am very proud to have been able to include four of these legends on this CD. It has been a dream come true for me. I am humbly appreciative for yet another amazing session. Their work and ability was unbelievable!

I hope everyone enjoys this CD as much as I enjoyed making it. Again, to all the players that made this project a success, Bob Moore, Pete Wade, Pig Robbins, Jimmy Capps, Paul Franklin, Jim Loessberg, and Bobby Flores – THANK YOU!
