简介
It's the best recipe for musical success; an acoustic guitar, big ideas, and the lush horse fields of Uxbridge Ontario, Robyn Ottolini, 17, is the town's latest home grown talent. Her dreams are coming true. Robyn has been given the opportunity of a life time, to record and film her own song, “Ring Around the Roses”, in her very backyard. Since she was three years old, Robyn has shown an unwavering admiration for music. She distinctly remembers playing her favourite tape cassettes until they snapped under wear and tear, but much love. “My favourite song was 'Meet in the Middle' by Diamond Rio. I played [that tape] until it broke.” By the age of ten, Robyn started taking piano lessons. In school, she played the flute in her public school band. After guitar lessons at the age of fourteen, she has been unable to stay away from the enchantment of music. Concert performances with the school band have made Robyn comfortable in front of audiences. She continues to further improve her musical and vocal abilities. With voice lessons with Leah Daniels, a local voice coach and accomplished country music performer. Robyn writes her own lyrics and music, using life and love as sources of inspiration. Passion and persistence thrives in Robyn's blood. Family friends Robyn babysits for, had connections to Horse Farm Productions, a company who was searching for a voice to record demos that would be sold to other artists. Mike Leaver and Jim Nolan, experienced producers and radio technicians, founders of HorseFarm, write and produce songs for Robyn. Although she was not chasing the possibility to record, Robyn could not think of passing up the chance. Just before the spring broke into summer, Robyn was swept away into the recording studio to record her first country rock single; “Ring Around the Roses”. The month long process was a challenge, as school and other aspects of life were obstacles to adjust around. By mid July, the team was ready to shoot the video. Ideas and creativity collaborated to bring shape to Robyn's video. The picturesque Uxbridge countryside was the perfect, dreamy set for Robyn's piece. Any true artist will agree that the best pieces are born from some deeper emotion, that artistic ability produces the best results when the urge to portray a message is present. For her debut single, Robyn has centered her theme around sweet love's sting, pulling yourself up when you're on the ground. “Everyone falls down,” reassures Robyn “It's not just you.” While she's not writing up a storm or singing her heart out, Robyn is doing what girls do best; enjoying school, being with the family, and making the most of opportunity that knocks. With only a year or so left of high school, she is considering a career in the song writing industry. Most of all, Robyn is setting a course to her happiness.
