简介
In 1942, as the song says, the pre-eminent balladeer of America's working class penned 33 New Year's resolutions, many timeless imperatives for living an examined, self-aware life as both an active citizen of republic and as a good neighbor. Seventy years later, Wisconsin songwriter Matthew Grimm has woven them into a new progressive anthem, pegged to the Guthrie's 33rd entry, "Wake up and fight." In a new era in which a barely disguised neofascist movement is swamping the American political process with unlimited, untraceable corporate cash, it is a clarion call for all who understand, or are being drawn to the realization, that democracy is not a spectator sport, and citizenship does not end with any election, whether it goes your way or not.
