Through The Stone is a four-piece rock band from Omaha, NE. The band’s sound can be described as a perfect storm of gritty, soulful, heavy rock with a dash of progressive/experimental rock. In 2007, bass player Toby Wandel looked to put together a band, which eventually transformed into what is now known as Through The Stone. Over the next several years, the group was joined by vocalist Kate Prokop and guitarist Tanner Ashland. In 2012, TTS recorded a demo which contained songs that shaped the band’s unique hard rock sound. It didn’t take long for the band to develop a strong local following and become a force to be reckoned with in the Midwest music scene. After the current lineup was solidified in the Fall of 2013, with the addition of drummer Wes Graffius, the band set out to write and record new music with the goal of creating something that really represented the amalgamation of each members’ musical interests and strengths. With Kate’s unmistakably powerful and emotive vocals, combined with Tanner’s raw, soaring, unwavering guitar playing, and the driving, grumbling, rock-solid bass and drums from Toby and Wes, TTS believes they have created a unique sound blending many rock genres. Through The Stone’s first professionally recorded album, which is sure to be the pinnacle of the band’s journey to date, will be released on September 11th, 2015.
