After his studies in Mannheim and several stays in foreign countries he returned to Cologne now. He plays in clubs and at many important festivals and is today a well-known trumpet player and composer. He is demanded in varied contexts as soloist and draws the attention as leader of original jazz projects. In 2004 he was awarded the renowned jazz price at the Art Foundation Baden-Wurttemberg in Stuttgart, he is invited to international festivals and plays with various famous international musicians. With his top-class quintet with stars of the German and European jazz scene his debute CD presents exclusively compositions of his own - a songbook with a very personal mark, each of the pieces tells a special story. Here you can listen to energetic European jazz in the best Hardbop tradition, which reflects the American straight ahead idiom as well as the influences of the European classical chamber music.
