Conboy, also referred to as 2Cup Tommy, is a "Southern Rapper", as he would call himself. People seem to misconstrue the meaning of this term. Well maybe that's because Tommy is in his own lane when it comes to his music and style. Being born in Stuart Florida, but soon after moving to Savannah Georgia definatley had an effect on his cultural influence, and you can hear it in his voice. His sharp, and most of the time fast delivery makes for a pleasant listen when blended with his Savannah slang. 2Cups grew up admiring Savannah rapper and native Jason "Camoflauge" Johnson. Camoflauge was the only rapper to actually semi make it in the rap game (having a deal with Universal Records) before getting shot down in the streets one day while with his son. Tommy soon discovered he not only loved hip hop, but that he wanted to be a rapper like his idol (if the NBA never called). He began writing raps in the 6th grade, during class or after school and would pile notebooks under his bed full of material. 2Cups quickly fell into the darkness the city offers when one decides to cross that moral line. Fast forward 10 years later he was hitting rock bottom in a small apartment after a life of unfulfilled dreams and financial struggle. "I just decided one day to cut the bullshit. I decided I wanted more out of life and didn't want to look back on mine with regret." So that's the day Conboy was officially born in his own mind. Ever since that decision 2 years ago he has put out 4 mixtapes, two of which are available on datpiff.com, and is working on an album set to release later this year. 2Cup just released a single off his first album called "Zoned Out" featuring JellyRoll. He did A music video for this song with Jelly which was filmed by Legit Looks and directed by Orlando entertainer Mike Busey. Tommy's Southern side was conveyed ten fold in this music video consisting of monster trucks, airboats, Girls in cowboy boots and mud. "Southern doesn't mean country just because your white" says Conboy. "Where I grew up we were ten minutes away from everything, ten minutes From the city, ten minutes from the country, and ten minutes from the beach. So I couldn't say I'm country without sayin I'm A city boy. I'm all of that, I'm just Southern." Tommy claims that while even though recently moving to Palm beach to concentrate on music, his heart still remains in Georgia. His fans are highly anticipating this album And the single "Zoned Out" is just a small taste of what's to come.
