简介
Allen Thompson is an Americana artist. He hails from the mountains of Virginia and lives in Nashville, TN. His songs are straight up - they aren't post-modern, distant or disenfranchised. They aren't posed or fake - so it’s hard to give it a genre. He's got a warble, a beard and shock of curly auburn hair - so we call it Americana. Over the last four years, Allen has released two albums (2006's Highway and 2008's eponymous album). He has shared the studio with Bonnie Bramlett, Jack Pearson, Harry Stinson, Jimmy Nalls, and Dave Pomeroy. Allen has been called "…one of the best artists to come out of the South in recent times." by Chuck Leavell of Allman Brothers and Rolling Stones fame - but this isn’t a competition – the South already learned that lesson. On stage, Allen belts out the tunes like a tuning fork. Pretty soon you disappear, I disappear, he disappears and there is just the song curling over highways and hillsides. His music doesn't sound like anything else out there because his music doesn't respond to that. His music is a deep echo of the struggles and aching joy of life.
