简介
Nadsat, in his former life called Flashboy, is hailing from the French retrofuture. Emerald & Doreen is proud to present his first EP. He says: “This is a concept EP. For me this is an enormous flash seem in ultra slow motion, totally bright, very atmospheric, like the soundtrack of a dream. It is a homage to my influences Gorecki, My Bloody Valentine, The Cure, Kraftwerk and Talk Talk.” And we love it! The EP starts with a totally ethereal overture, the "Intro (Centaurus)". The sound of a sunrise, while the light energy is transferred into an enormous, supersonic wall of sound. Breathtaking, and clearly influenced by soundtracks and shoegaze, because we all now, space is only noise. What follows is "Shades of Light", the vocal track of the EP, a tribute to early 80's pop and synth wave, a wonderful song, accompanied by arpeggiators, melodic synths and a fragile, tender, melancholic female voice. "Stars" is a hypnotic instrumental, a beautifully evolving new wave dream dance track, like Chromatics for the dancefloor, with guitars, analogue synths and old drum machines. The end is formed by the "Outro (Sunset)”, the sunset, the end of the story, the end of the journey...a sweet soothing piece of electronica with a touch of minimal house. The remixes add up to the amazing “from above” feel of the EP. Escape by Night transforms “Shades of Light” into a tender aural hug, the melancholic title song of an imaginary French 80s movie. Statickman’s version would be in the top 10 of the charts of a perfect world and should please everybody who likes 80s synth pop. The beautiful cover artwork is by Wild Phantoms.
