Born and raised in Bloomington, Minnesota amongst a musical family of six. Mike Berens was destined to enter the world of music. Growing up to the sounds of Motown and Rhythm and Blues, Michael was able to develop an ear for music. At age 17 he had the opportunity to perform with such artists as Prince, Monifah, and Maxi Preist on separate occasions. In 2000 he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in music.

Michael auditioned with several hundreds for a spot in an all male R&B group (4AM) and was later selected as one of the members. The group was put together by veteran songwriter/producer Samm Brown. Due to musical differences the group 4AM left Samm to work hand in hand writing and producing with veteran producer Oji Pierce (Montell Jordan, Ruff Endz, Coolio,) and Nick Mundy (Color Me Badd, Chico DeBarge). In 2002, 4AM disbanded and Michael began his career in writing and producing music in which he started his own production company known as BearEndz Productions LLC. BearEndz Productions collaborates the mixed talents of writers, vocalists, and musicians. Michael oversees all projects and is credited for all of the production. In 2003 they began promoting their work in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Atlanta. Immediately the songs were picked up by radio stations and nightclubs due to the incredible response of the listeners. In 2004, Michael became a final contestant to work hand and hand with super producer P. Diddy and has recently finished up the theme track with O.J. Simpson for an upcoming reality prank show called “Juiced”(A take off of MTV’s show “Punked”). Michael has been busy in the studio working on the third album release of superstar R&B singer Ray Covington entitled “Rayflections” and is also working as music coordinator for a few upcoming shows premiering on BET and MTV. Other collaborations Michael has been involved in include such organizations and artists as Oji Pierce (Montel Jordan, Coolio, Ruff Endz, Anastasia), Snoop Dogg, Ray Covington, LifeTime Original Movie “Walking Away”, Canibus, Chino XL, Crooked I, Phathom, Anthony Meyer (Alumni Ent.), Novell, Stacy B., Pharcyde, Mile A Minute, Draftpick, Couture, DJ Nice, Plum, MTV Original Television Series “The X Effect” and “Rob and Big”, etc.
