The Wonder that is SF Merlo SF Merlo never fit in, he has always stood out. He didn’t belong to a specific clique, finding more enjoyment in music rather than worrying about which crowd he fit into. Similar to every high school boy, girls were one thing on SF Merlo’s mind, but unlike the other boys who were concerned with which team or club to join, SF Merlo was concerned about music and developing his lyrical ability. SF Merlo always had a love for music. As the youngest of three siblings, SF Merlo looked up to his older brother, who introduced him to the hip-hop world. He grew up listening to legends like Run DMC, Notorious B.I.G, LL Cool J, 2Pac, & Big Daddy Kane who spit rhymes he could relate to. Their artistry gave birth to the witty and thought-provoking rhymes that are SF Merlo's trademark. SF Merlo always saw greatness in his future. SF Merlo, according to sources closest to him, has a sixth sense, almost like a wizard, thus giving him the name, "Merlo." "S.F." stands for "salt fish," a nickname given to him in his younger days as you could always find him glued to his older brother’s side. SF Merlo’s other brother’s nickname is, Dumplin. In Jamaican culture, saltfish and dumpling is the national dish. He felt incorporating part of this loved dish into his stage name only natural. SF Merlo was born September 29 in Toronto, Ontario. SF Merlo knows that nothing comes easy, and has worked tremendously hard, because he knew the climb to the top would not be easy. From a young age, he saw his parents work hard, move to the suburbs in hopes to make a better life for their children. Through all this, SF Merlo kept his eyes on the prize doing all in his power to materialize his dreams of making it big, without having to conform, he wrote rhymes, studied his favourite rappers and freestyled to anyone who would listen. As he matured, SF Merlo has faced heart-breaking rejection time after time, but has not let that stop him. SF Merlo has always believed in himself, quite often when no one else has, financing projects himself, even if that meant going hungry. Since making his dreams a reality, SF Merlo is focused on aspiring to be what he feels he is destined to be.
