Played in a freak folk style. Raised on a horse ranch in the mountains of Idaho, Dame Darcy learned how to play folk instruments at an early age from her Dad, Mike Stanger, who is also featured on the album in the first track, singing the ballad Darcy was named after. He is also on the last track performing with Darcy as a five year old. Pandora Pumpkin Head and Jack Martin, as well as Bliss Blood are featured on this album. DD attended the San Franciso Art Institute and played banjo with Caroliner Rainbow, and Suck Dog, two interactive performance art groups that also make experimental noise music. After that, Dame Darcy moved to NYC where she lived for several years, and has had the pleasure to tour with Michael Gira with angels of light (formerly the Swans) and Rasputina, as well as performing with various bands such as Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch, The Fall, Jarboe, and others.
