Ambassador is a progressive / post-punk / dark rock band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Eluding the current genre traps of modern rock, Ambassador evokes a sense of maturity and exploration with emotional and vulnerable sounds rooted in post and progressive rock/metal, stoner rock, dark rock, post-punk and southern blues. Their debut album Belly of the Whale is a meandering sonic journey through an amalgamation of heart rustling doom, shoe-gazing aesthetic, and pop sensibility. The music, which has been compared to bands like Dredg, Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, Interpol, Agents of Oblivion, and Thrice, features introspective though ethereal lyrics that support concise grooves with a dark and ominous sense of melody. Each composition exposes new colors and textures with a unique energy and vibe.
