Insomnia. Ya gotta love it. It seems like the older I get, the less sleep I get - (naps not included). So.... put the coffee pot on at 2 a.m., light up a 'Boro', purchase a writing program and a mixer and VOILA!... the days of the old garage bands are reborn. The first song written in the middle of the night, "Connie's Song", is composed for my "princess bride" of many years. You'll hear that several tracks on this album come from the memories of this wonderful girl escaping into the night air - "Dance With Me," about the night we met; "Shake It," watching her making breakfast; "Say You Love Me," a recurrent phrase; and "The Girl Needs A Song," about our early days. Also on this disc are some current-event/politically-flavored tracks to amuse, two melancholy tunes ("Desert Rose", "The Leaves are Falling Early"), and the title track "Breathe"- a title that has been used often, but this time with a few twists and turns.
