J. Cortez formerly known to the music world as Letta J. is an artist with a unique sound and a style all his own. After making his way through the ranks in west coast hip hop scene with songs like Hip Hop Music and Turn it up, J found himself opening on the road with Lil Jon and E40. After coming home from a weekend concert in Mexico that featured artists such as: The Game And Lil Jon, J walked away from a contract with Warner Bros. and the indie label ReelTalk. After walking away from what he describes as a life that he knew would have brought no happiness, J gave his life to Jesus Christ. Through his relationship with Jesus and scripture, he made a 180 degree turn. After 3 years away Letta J became J. Cortez with a different sound, mission, and name. Since none of his albums were officially released, J is happy to know that the world won't hear him as Letta J but as the Gospel Singer and rapper J. Cortez Servant Of Jesus Christ.
