“Our Time Now” is an original composition of Rod Temperton and Lionel Richie performed by Alexandra Jackson for her instant classic “Alexandra Jackson: Legacy & Alchemy” album. Produced and Arranged by Rod Temperton and Larry Williams in London, Rio de Janeiro and Los Angeles, this song was composed by Mr. Temperton and Mr. Richie as an Olympics theme, and included on Ms. Jackson’s album as a homage to the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. The track indeed honors the spirit of this project and the Rio Olympics with the great Mr. Temperton’s final production. The track features Ms. Jackson, with Mr. Temperton on Keyboards, Siedah Garrett and Chris Walker providing co-Lead vocals, and legendary Brazilian percussionist Armando Marcal joining in. The rhythm section is led by Mr. Williams (Keyboards), legendary Chicago Bassist Darryl Jones and the great Brazilian master Teo Lima on Drums. Ms. Jackson’s, Ms. Garrett’s and Mr. Walker’s vocals were recorded in the U.S., with backing vocals recorded in both London and U.S. – with the stellar contributions of Holly Petrie, Darryl Tookes and Curtis King Jr. The track also is a nod to the influence of the legendary Quincy Jones projects, of which Messrs. Temperton, Richie and Williams, and Ms. Garrett were a vital part.
