简介
C.Gutta is an aspiring Hip Hop artist working Hawaii’s underground rap scene earning his spot amongst the top ranked Hip Hop artist in the state and eventually in the world. The name Gutta is a testament to the North Philadelphia neighborhood where he was raised until the age of sixteen when he moved to Hawaii’s Lanakila Housing. C.Gutta always wrote raps, but until he joined an audio production class at Moanalua high school his senior year, he didn’t know how easy it was to record them. The school’s audio production studio quickly became his hang out spot, and it was there where he put together his first full-length mix tapes with a group of his classmates. C.Gutta spent most of his senior year cultivating his recording style and perfecting his flow. While his classmates where filling out college applications he was working toward another dream, becoming a legend in the Hip Hop game. C.Gutta is independently putting out his first LP entitled Black Attire Music this upcoming fall. The project touches on an array of topics including the crystal meth epidemic that has struck Hawaii, Domestic violence, and economic and social issues that affect the people in his Hawaiian and Philadelphian neighborhoods. The album will be released both physically and digitally and hopefully it will bring awareness to these topics both locally and nationally. C.Gutta has been professionally making music since 2005 and has since released four solo mix tapes and has been on more than ten other projects including SlappSymphony's Hawaii award winning album Landz of the Lost where he is featured on six songs and two singles (Out of My Mind and All Night Long featuring Kaipo Kapua). He has worked with Hip Hop legend Keith Murry and almost every prominent Hawaii Hip Hop artist. C.Gutta has also opened up live shows for many well known rap stars including Drizzy Drake, E-40, Too short, Xzibit, Devin the Dude, Chyno XL, and Savage. C.Gutta continues to put his stamp on the Hawaii Hip Hop scene by doing live shows and releasing new songs via internet sites like Soundcloud, Myspace, Twitter, and Facebook. When asked what made you choose to become a rapper, C.Gutta’s response was, “to give a voice to the have nots and to tell the stories of crime, drugs, homicide, and just the everyday struggle of being a young man coming from nothing and trying to make something of yourself against all odds. Not to justify these acts but to give insight and a better understanding to the people who might not understand why these things are going on or why people choose to take part in these activities. Coming from North Philadelphia I’ve experienced and witnessed a lot of things that the majority wouldn’t consider normal, things that I considered normal until I moved to Hawaii. This is why my music is a reflection of the way I was raised and the man I aspire to be. I recognize that I’m the mouth piece for not only myself but possibly millions of others and I approach the microphone with that attitude every time I record.”
