Q.U.A.Z. — The Mosaic Review Posted by jazzisol on Mar 23, 2013 in Art, Music, Reviews | 0 comments Welcome to Virginia is the welcome mat to an album full of banging beats and words that act as delicacies to the minds hungry for fodder. Q.U.A.Z.’s love of music comes across effortlessly in each bar he delivers on another river of intelligence. He speaks to the depths of hunger, need, and excellence and creates a mosaic of emotion that is indigenous to the realness of life. Everything from the production to the lyrics are on point in this melodious vision of what hip hop should be. Never one to be mired down in cerebral foreplay he delves into your spirit and brings to the forefront your music lover instinct. Each nerve reverberates with the sounds that are uniquely omnipresent. Each track acts as mental foreplay to the next. Q.U.A.Z.’s words wrap so tightly around each track that you swear the music is being made purely by the words that he speaks. An interesting feat for someone who also kisses conventionality with their art. His mixture of styles is what sets him apart. No false bravado echoes from the recesses of this album. Instead, his work is steeped in reality. This fondant coating of words is what draws the listener in and makes them want to listen to more. Every since I got this album I have been playing it. Very rarely does an album make it into my rotation. Q.U.A.Z.’s work has found a way to insidiously inject itself into my subconscious until I found myself singing Black Out as I was cooking. Simply put this music blazes a trail through your mind until you walk that path time and time again. Part of his addictiveness is his maintenance of style throughout the album. Some sounds are repetitious. However, this is not a bad trait for this artist. Instead, it is a brand building sound that will soon become synonymous with Q.U.A.Z. I give this album 4 Suns out of 5. All of my Sunneties definitely need to get this album. Check out his music at http://www.reverbnation.com/mequaz
