简介
Phutu7istic “PH7” (pronounce Futuristic) is a Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall Artiste from Falmouth (Peel Street Di Real Street “PSRS”), Trelawny. He made the first step in his musical journey performing at his class functions and school events at the age of 9. During his 8th grade sophomore year in high school, he started writing rap lyrics for his rap group called ‘Night Ryder’. The group later went on to do several studio recordings and entered numerous local competitions. Progressively after high school graduation, he turned his focus to writing dancehall and reggae music within his new group called ‘Unpredictable Juveniles’ aka ‘U.J.’. Most members of the group migrated to the United States but Phutu7istic believes that ‘Unpredictable Juveniles’ is deeply embedded into the roots of the musician he has grown to be today. Phutu7istic migrated to the United States in 2013 and is currently affiliated with a dance group called ‘1 Nation’. As the sole artist of the group he decided to manifest his musical aspirations of recording dancehall and reggae music. Phutu7istic’s musical background began as a songwriter. He began recording his own music under the moniker of Phutu7istic in 2013 releasing his first official solo song called ‘Gal Wine’. He previously went by the name “Future” but had to be creative after Future the rapper came to prominence. He recently released a song in May 2016 called “Once Again” which is gaining notoriety in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia), Caribbean and United Kingdom. He has done numerous performances to date, opening for several Jamaican top artistes. His debut performance in the DMV was in the summer of 2015 when he opened for Ding Dong (Ravers Clavers). He followed up with a stellar performance at Danielle Noon’s Birthday Bash “Legacy”. That earned him a spot to open for one of the most renowned rising Dancehall star “Dexta Daps” and Phutu7istic did live up to the hype. The self-proclaim “Young, Hype & Generous” artiste did entertain the the crowd at Danielle Noon’s show “Night Mist”. He put in an energetic performance with adroit moves and astute lyrics, which was only topped by the main performer “Dapa Don - Dexta Daps”. He stated, “This was my biggest show to date and I have been preparing for months, simultaneously balancing work, academics, family and music. I am thankful that the audience really felt both my energy and vibe in addition to being extremely receptive. To perform for over 300 people is amazing an amazing feeling. Give thanks to the promoter for giving not only me but other local artistes a platform to showcase their talent”. That performance was follow up immediately with booking for weekly event call “TunUp Thurday” and the “Once Again” artiste did not fail to deliver in a more compact and intermate setting. Additionally, he has performed at the DMV Caribbean Student Association event called “Out of Many” and several other university and college functions. He is currently working on his Extended Play(EP) called “Road to Glory”. Along with his EP, he is continuously in the studio recording both Dancehall and Reggae singles, and has recently voiced for North Road Records (NRR) located in Washington D.C. and Shelldung Records located in Jamaica. Those song are scheduled to be released over the summer of 2016. He is scheduled to do performances in New York City over the Memorial Day Holiday and is booked for “Sankofa Street Fest” happening on June 19, 2016. Phutu7istic notates that he respects everyone; both the established and newcomers within the music industry and he listens to all genres of music which helps to create his own unique style and flow. He considers himself to be a hybrid of artists with a mixture of singjay and DJ. He is currently a full-time student where his concentration is “Accounting”. He states that music brings him joy and fulfillment and most importantly it acts as a medium through which his messages can reach the world.
