简介
This album contains three works written by Quebec composer Martin Lachance. Composed in 2013, his Barcarolle for piano was written as a tribute to Gabriel Fauré. The piece is built on a ternary rocking rhythm that reminds the Venetian gondoliers oars’ relentless movement. Sang d’encre (2007) is one of the first concert works composed by Martin Lachance. It is a piece for voice and piano inspired by a Patrick Michael Lachance poem. Written in the early 90s, the text describes the poets’ somber mood, alone at home on a cold autumn evening. As for Ondulations (2012), it is a piece for piano 4-hands in which we constantly hear bursts of agitation in the water. This idea pervades the entire piece, with a near-ubiquitous swarm of repeated notes, alternating with calmer sections in a dreamy mood.
