As nine months bring forth new life, these nine songs bring you the rebirth of Jerman Luga. Elevated thinking and life inspired the music, Jah made it possible. Though Jerman Luga will always live within Idre, as evidenced in his music, a time came for change. Born in West Kingston, Jamaica, Idre developed a passion for music very early on. Coupled with a devout practice of the Rastafarian way of life, Idre found himself immersed in music through his experiences and hardships in inner city Kingston, serving as a scapegoat from the violence and poverty that plagued his everyday life. He has previously written music for other artists, including Machel Montana, and he began recording professionally, himself, in 2006, with his first single being Where I’m From. Idre believes that as an artist, you have the ears of the people, and therefore, have a great responsibility, and influence over them. As Idre puts it, “positive meditation is key to success.” The music sheds a positive message and enforces in youth what sometimes is lost today.
