“Another new UK Country Rock artist who has shown that we can indeed take on the best of what the good old USA has to offer” MAVERICK MAGAZINE Chris Corney is a contemporary singer songwriter from Bedfordshire, UK. He has been writing, recording and performing music since the age of 16, all the time honing his songwriting skills. Fortunately Chris was raised by parents with great taste in music, and was weaned on bands such as Crosby Stills & Nash, Credence Clearwater Revival and Fleetwood Mac. These, along with his own later influences, like Crowded House, Bruce Springsteen and Ryan Adams have clearly shaped Chris’ sound today. By 2005 Chris’ songwriting skills had caught the attention of Complete/Universal music, who subsequently offered him a publishing deal. This was soon followed by the release of his band The Ravines debut album ‘Manifesto Of A Broken Heart’. His debut solo album ‘Built To Be Burned Down’ is a blend of Alt Country rock with strong pop sensibilities. It was released earlier this year to critical acclaim and has earned him some prestigious support slots along with regular radio play. A host of great musicians join Chris on the album including amongst others Rob Bond on Pedal steel and Pianist Keith Weir.
