Kingsley is an anointed songwriter, arranger, and vocalist. He has been commissioned by God to venture into the battlefield for souls with the sword of the word through music. Throughout his developing years as an artist he has sang and directed many choirs, groups and ensembles. However, it has always been his goal to be led by God and God has led him to record his first CD project as a solo artist entitled Kingsley. He believes that music should inspire, encourage, and uplift souls and his daily prayer is that his ministry does just that. Born in the Island of Jamaica, Kingsley grew up singing in a church group with his three sisters. His mother was a very talented vocalist and was his mentor as a child. Kingsley's father was not a singer but was the backbone of his early start in music. He can clearly recall those revival meetings in Jamaica where he would sit in the front of the church just to watch and listened to the band play. In the early eighties his parents along with Kingsley and his sisters relocated to the United States and took up residence in the city of Mt. Vernon, New York. While living in New York, Kingsley started and directed a group called Psalm 100 and sang in his church choir which traveled regionally and internationally. He was also one of the choirs lead vocalist and section leaders. Kingsley later relocated to the state of Kansas where he attended Kansas University. While studying to be a nurse he sang on the schools ensemble which exposed him to music theory and composition. Kingsley also became a member of a local group called "friends in Christ" that toured within a four state region. Here he was exposed to the freelance style of music composition. During this time period he was also a member of his church choir which he later directed. A future in music became dim for Kingsley after his group members decided to choose different paths for their lives. One day without having any knowledge of how to play the piano, Kingsley went out on blind faith and invested several thousand dollars on a keyboard. He vowed that he would teach himself to play and many long nights were spent alone with his keyboard. During those nights he would try to play whatever he felt because he knew nothing else. But, what was really happening was the creation of a phenomenal songwriter and arranger. Those nights he will always cherish because it was a time when it was just he, his keyboard and God. Today Kingsley resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with his beautiful wife and two children. There he recorded this incredible project. All the songs on this project were written and arranged by Kingsley. He also co-produced this project. God has brought Kingsley very far but He is not through with him yet. Actually, this is just the beginning.
