Jennifer Bowen, who does not perform any of the songs on this album, wrote all of them (along with some help on the first song from her then-husband, Daniel Bowen). The album was produced in celebration of her parents' 60th wedding anniversary, and the title song was written specifically for that occasion. One song on this album, "Spunky Lou Wants to Play", which won an Honorable Mention in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, was inspired by a Golden Retriever named Mocha. Jennifer has won Honorable Mentions in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for two other songs, which appear on a different album, "Actuaria". "The Light of Love" was inspired by the welcoming look of her house when she arrived home in the evening after dark and could see by the lights in the windows that her husband was already home. "One Man" recalls the yearning feeling of loneliness. "Butterfly" was inspired by her desire to protect her innocent niece from any unhappiness in life. "Stay" anticipates the eventual divorce. "Begonia Blossom" is her father's pet name for her mother. "Take a Little Trip" is just a fun little song.
