简介

A follow up to the fan favorite debut from Nate Sylak ”The Show” EP, this five song disc is a preview of what’s to come from the rapper/lyricist’s sophomore effort. Slated for a late winter release, Nate’s upcoming album features a new mix of rap, hip hop, and rock music that showcases the young performer not just as a rare talent, but as a true artist as well. Recorded over the course of a about a year, the album will feature 12-15 tracks pulled from many hours of late night writing both in a Los Angeles recording studio with producers Booty Short and DJ Rocdusa, and on his own in his home state of Ohio. The five songs come from the more than thirty Sylak wrote for the still untitled record, and are an early preview of the new sound he has crafted while gigging relentlessly in Ohio to promote his first record. The first single off the new album “Brand New Song”(Off to the City) features a sample of the number one hit “In the Meantime”(by ultra-hip 90’s rock band Spacehog) , and has both a nostalgic feel and an upbeat tone. The song’s wistful lyrics are delivered by Nate with the authority his baritone voice naturally brings to a song that already has people thinking about bumpin’ it with the top down. The second track “The Dopest” may remind listeners of a hard hitting south beat(minus the syrup), but with loud rock guitars and some of the sickest rhymes ever put on a track. Quickly following is “Lies”, a Led Zep/Dr. Dre style stomp that Nate’s deep voice booms over and reminds us all that “Lies are told through the eyes...” Next up the Rogue Lion Crew snags and re-performs part of another 90’s rock song “No New Tale to Tell” by Love and Rockets, with producer Booty Short doing his first ever feature singing the chorus to “When Ur Down” and Sylak lets his voice roll over this one like a glassy wave. Finally on “This Is How It Goes”, with its middle eastern style sitar line and slamming snare drum , Nate bowls everyone over with one of the most powerful choruses you’ll hear in a rap song. and lays down three verses that knock us over ”...like a row of dominoes...”. For Nate Sylak this is how it goes indeed.
