This album features organic soul music characterized by orchestral, acoustic, and percussive sounds, but the piano is at the forefront of all the music as it is featured in some shape or form on each track. Musically, the songs are a mixture of the music of Sade and Josh Groban, with a slight element of Haitian musical rhythms, as they combine R&B drum patterns, African, Latin, and Haitian percussions, European strings and other orchestral sounds, along with classical piano. The lyrics are provocative, as they reveal somewhat dark thoughts that many of can relate to. "He Walks Alone" and "Cynical" address dark views, while "I'll Protect You" and "Live Your Life" express a more positive view of the future. "Redemption," "A Silent Voice" and "Life Is A Struggle" are stories of survival and hope that exist in every society. Each song was written with the sole intent of bringing awareness to the listener of certain thoughts, ideas, concerns, and beliefs, while providing easy listening music and soulful harmonies, along with worldbeat sounds.
