Horchata is Michael Palace who is a research scientist that studies tropical ecology in Amazonia, working at the Complex System Research Center at the University of New Hampshire's Institute for Earth, Oceans, and Space. Palace records field audio when ever he can during his many trips to conduct fieldwork. Using generative music techniques and code he writes to manipulate audio, Palace generates unique sounds and further manipulates them using both modular analog synthesizers and other digital synthesizers. Most of his compositions on this album are composed away from a computer using both older samplers and sequencers.

This album is based on 8 songs spliced together hiding the the evening dusk, emerging to explore. This song includes complex drones developed using NI reaktor, field recordings, and a modular analog synthesizer.
