Based off of my favorite scripture, "Be still, and know that I am God", I wanted to write a song that speaks to people who are going through a struggle, trial, or season in their life that requires complete Faith and Trust in God. I wrote the lyrics, especially the bridge, while reflecting on what a Potter does to the clay that they're working with. "Invade" is an intrusive word...sometimes when we come to a place of desperation we have to ask God to completely take control of our Heart, Soul and Mind...To reach into the deep places of our heart and remove the impurities/unwanted pieces...To break us down so He can build us back up. God's breaking process is not comfortable...it even hurts...but it teaches us that when we are weak, He is strong, and as a result we rise up again stronger and victorious. It is abundantly clear why God told Jeremiah to go and observe the Potter. Know this - God does His best work through the darkest times in our life, as He prepares us for greater things...as He prepares us for His purpose. Just as clay pots are finalized in extreme heat and diamonds are formed under extreme pressure, so too is our life formed and strengthened through the fire. Being still, and knowing that God is God encompasses this entire process. I pray this song encourages or helps heal anyone who may be going through something that requires them to relinquish themselves to God the Potter.
