This song was written to memorialize the 27 victims of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT on December 14, 2012. I am a singer/songwriter from Texas but was overcome with emotion at the thought of all those poor children and their parents who probably already had gifts under the Christmas tree when their lives were cut short. I played the keyboard and sang the vocals at the same time on the first take, which I have never done on any of the hundreds of songs I have recorded. God bless these little ones and anyone who is suffering the loss of a loved one.
