Haunted Heart is Susan Cattaneo's fourth album and it represents a significant departure for her. While her previous records included material originally written for other artists, Susan crafted every song in this record for herself. The album was written during a fourteen-month period following a traumatic accident in which Susan had to save a friend’s life. As a result, the songs travel down some dark roads, full of lush landscapes and unexpected twists.

Produced by Lorne Entress (Lori McKenna, Katie Curtis), Haunted Heart features a who’s who of New England’s best Americana musicians including Kevin Barry (Ray LaMontagne, Roseanne Cash), Lyle Brewer (Ryan Montbleau) Stu Kimball (Bob Dylan) and Duke Levine (J. Geils Band, Mary Chapin Carpenter) on guitars, Richard Gates (Melissa Ferrick, Suzanne Vega) on bass, and Jimmy Ryan on mandolin, along with the some amazing out of towners, Kenny White on keys (Peter Wolf, Shawn Colvin) and Marco Giovino (Buddy Miller, Robert Plant) on drums.
