Anji raised in a home filled with the sounds of the Big Band Era.” Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Count Basie”. Anji’s father a camera man for the Ritz Theater in Chicago assisted Anji in vocal development, learning to sing with Judy Garland, Mahalia Jackson, Lena Horne, and Ella Fitzgerald. Debut solo “Since I turned sixteen” aired in Milwaukee on the local radio in 1977. Joined “Tenderness” in 1978-1979 an appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel in Nashville, Tennessee. Toured with Tenderness during the summer months and was the opening act for Johnny Taylor in Milwaukee Wisconsin during the 80’s and Walter Hawkins / Shaun Pace in Huntsville Alabama in 1992. Anji’s desire is to provide an outlet for healing, spiritually and physically, she is an anointed vessel for God, a servant a true psalmist. Learning “ The Anji Project” is a work unlike any other. It is healing! Each song written by Anji and produced by Roberto Burton address the Love of God and provide a since of healing. A place of peace.
