简介
This CD was recorded as an answer to my Mother who had told me I should rekindle my love of music (thru karaoke). I started singing again in the early 90's in northern Wisconsin and found it to be a wonderful diversion from my work. I was in a high stresss management production job with the Milwaukee Journal newspaper group at the time. With my departure from that job, I was able to increase my time spent on music and even started to become interested in piano again, Mother died in early 2005 from a long, painful battle with leg circulation problems. I had the privilege of caring for her on a daily basis for over two years and she enjoyed my amateur recordings of some Johnny Horton hits. That is when I thought about doing a recording of several of his hits in a professional studio. After her death, It became a goal of mine to follow through on this as a tribute to her for her sacrifice of paying for piano lessons when I was a young boy. It also helped to have some background in choral music learned from some excellent teachers in Greenfield, IL high school. All of this culminated in a recording session originally completed in November, 2006 at Dixiana Studios in Nashville, TN. Subsequent voiceovers at Soundcloset Recording Studion in Anderson, SC were completed with the help of McKelvie Wilder. Finally, it was ready and I am very proud of the work. The first song, "Amazin' Grace" was a rendition of the Maverick movie soundtrack with new instrumental and vocal background. The remainder of the CD includes Johnny Horton songs originally recorded in the 50's with all new background using some of the finest musicians in Nashville. More info will follow. Hope you enjoy listening.
