Thompson Blues is a collaboration with a bunch of folks in Albuquerque called the Chuppers. A Chupper is both a person and a music effect station(or cart). Thompson Blues is a mix of blues, folk-rock, circus ballads, chants, dirges, a bit Malian, etc. Thompson Blues features Dan Allen on guitar and voice. The cd is serious, playful, and experimental. The title track is an ode to crime-fiction writer Jim Thompson. There are also songs about avant garde film. Check out this punk-influenced folk-noir cd.
