By way of Middletown, Connecticut, the next preeminent producer from Atlanta is The ILL Genius. Having been involved in music for most of his life as a member of a rap group, promoter, and "party thrower," The ILL Genius is now laying down the tracks that are catching the attention of everyone from the staunchest hip-hop heads to the smoothest R&B balladeers. Not only is The ILL Genius the man behind the music for some of Atlanta's hottest up and coming rap acts, but he is also a serious songwriter, who has helped create the lyrics for PowerSource Entertainment's debut artist, male vocalist, Jay-El.

Even though he has been producing tracks for a short time, The ILL Genius has been able to compete with some of the Industry's best songwriters. His song, So Long, was selected as one of the 16 final songs out of over 200 original songs submitted to the Georgia Music Industry Association's Best of Urban Music Songwriter's Showcase and Awards Show. As a finalist, The ILL Genius' song was performed live before some of the Industry's top executives and was recognized as one of the best original songs for 2002.

Currently, Jay-El's upbeat joint, Dance Close, and ballad, Reverse, are getting spins at various radio stations across the Dirty South and up top in Connecticut. Both songs were written and produced by The ILL Genius and will be fully serviced to radio in Fall 2005. Kalako The Pro's first single, One For the Money, and the new club anthem, Monkey Roll, will also hit the streets in Fall, 2005.
