“That’s crazy! Why don’t you have a CD out there?” Platinum songwriter/producer Joe Archie probably thought he was asking a simple question, but some rather complicated circumstances had prevented Jasmien from getting her first CD to market. Ultimately, it was a bad car accident and a music deal gone bad that nearly caused Jasmien to exit the music scene for good. Though contemplating a return she still was not convinced until she discovered Archie was the songwriter of one of her favorite songs, “Through the Storm” by Kevin Archie. That tiny bit of information caused Jasmien to enthusiastically partner with Archie on the “Due Season” project. “Due Season” is a concept CD of real issues facing Christians today. Featuring lyrics based on personal experience the CD highlights Bible truths in everyday situations. Jasmien takes on a variety of topics including the daring “Victory” which encourages women to reclaim emotional and physical purity, “The Jesus Song” introduces Christ with a unique vocal delivery and fresh track from Archie and “Keep On Movin’” is a catchy summer groove declaring joy and liberty. A multi-instrumentalist, Jasmien makes no apologies for exploring music to max on this project. With 14 tracks “Due Season” features stellar artists and musicians on soul, jazz, and Christian alternative including a smooth jazz bonus track by acclaimed sax man Eddie M (Prince, Shelia E, Beyonce’).
