简介
Throughout Ray Walker's legendary career, he has carried the Good News of Jesus Christ. Even some of the last conversations Ray had with Elvis Presley were about God. When Ray was recently asked, "What were a few of the last things you remember saying to Elvis?" Ray responded, "One of the last things we ever did was take a walk in the back yard by this round house in Beverly Hills that I called the 'donut house.' We talked about God and the presence of God, and discussed the different religions. He was one of the best-read people I have ever met on the subject of religion." Throughout his adult life, Ray has presented the "Gospel Story In Song" from one end of this country to the other. When asked about how the idea began, Ray said, "My dad put me on my feet in front of the church, the month of my sixth birthday, March, 1940. I made my first talk and led my first song at Sunday school that day. My dad was an evangelist and we moved every two to four years. My dad, R.C. Walker, Sr. and mom, Elizabeth Walker, both sang well. Daddy was a master of order-or-events preaching and teaching. I got the idea that everything has a story and should be told in order. Recording professionally since 1958 and listening to the stories in the songs we recorded, verified this fact. The more I led singing in our worship services, the more I realized that the entire song service could be and should be 'a story' or 'theme;' and if organized in the proper sequences the song service would be more edifying, whether we were conscious of the fact or not; consequently, the 'Gospel Story In Song.' It is my hope that listening to and singing with this musical offering will enhance your joy in worship, impress your soul with the importance and value of your participation in the song services in worship and bring a personal sense of accomplishment in your endeavors to please God, Christ and the Holy Spirit, more and more. Our song services in worship are a grand rehearsal for our heavenly inheritance. After all, singing praise is what we are destined to be doing in heaven. For now, listen to these spectacular, singing-people of God; whose talent and dedication is surpassed only by their soulful joy and efforts to teach the Gospel story through their singing. God bless you." Produced by Harrison Tyner, Tom Pick, Larry Snow and directed by Ray Walker (of The Jordanaires), this one-of-a-kind, inspiring Acappella classic makes a wonderful gift.
