This recording received two 2006 Grammy nominations in the \"Best Classical Album\" and \"Best Small Ensemble\" categories. It also received a 2006 Latin Grammy nomination in the \"Best Classical Album\" category. Volume 3 of the music of Carlos Chavez is a result of an ongoing international collaboration between Southwest Chamber Music and the Tambuco Percussion Ensemble in Mexico. The CD includes the complete music for percussion and the complete music for voice and instruments with Alba Quezada and Los Angeles Opera mezzo- soprano Suzanna Gúzman. The first two releases of the chamber music of Chavez earned 2003 and 2004 GRAMMY® Awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
