简介
Bob Parins’ Lucky Little Guy is a sophmore release. The sonic palate is similar to that of his first effort, The Kissing Rocks (2007), but stretches a bit further. You’ll still catch glimpses of T-Rex and Paul McCartney, but with new surprises sprinkled in. You’ll hear flamenco guitar, finger snapping swing, an orchestral reprise, a lead vocal cameo from Russian Vogue’s Paige Gullivan. Side 2 (tracks 6-11) Show off Parins’ multi- instrumentalist side as he, in Prince-like fashion, plays every instrument himself. Songs 8, 9, and 10 segue into one-another to make one long evolving movement. You will also doubtlessly hear the influence of bands with whom Parins has toured in the last year as the bassist of California Folk-Pop band Vetiver. The Clientele (with whom Bob Played Pedal Steel Guitar on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) and Fruit Bats in particular, as well as Vetiver itself, served as musical inspiration.
