简介
Echoer's Intent critically considers notions of “training” in the social contexts of fine art, animal husbandry, and areas in between. Characters include an unethical folksong collector, a French schoolboy and his dog Robot, and a migratory game researcher. These minimal, mostly live recordings are the first to fully foreground Elephant Micah as a writing and solo performance project. Songs from around 2007—08 Recorded January 2010 Mixed and mastered with Mike Bridavsky at Russian Recording “It’s ‘Too hard to tune to the loon’s call,’ O’Connell admits at the beginning of the interrogative Echoer’s Intent. A kind of feathery, winding melody introduces an album full of psychological contours as perfectly as any song could. His more labyrinthine lyrics and masterful guitar both suit the higher fidelity of the album.” --Tiny Mix Tapes
