Disc 1
简介
First and foremost I am a die hard Cake fan, Since Motorcade of Generosity (their best album by far), and now all the way to the new album Pressure Chief. I will say though this album just falls a bit short on the 5 star scale, I only gave it a 4.5. This cd has 11 songs, and they are unfortunately short. Before long you will go," hey I just started that cd." I have already said that one numerous times. John Mc Crea's punchy lines and off beat hooks will catch you singing a line from the songs throughout the day and hook you into playing certain songs over and over. On the stronger side, Wheels and "take it all away" have the most radio play power, as where with "No Phone", people are mistaking the new single with "Never There" due to the phone reference. This album offers a bit more synthesized sound, which to a die hard fan, it's a bit troubling and difficult to take. It by no means is a bad sound, it just hasnt fit with any of the other cds they have produced. Bands as a whole need to expand and reinvent themselves, and CAKE really shows how it can be done. It isnt a huge change like some other bands. I will admit though I am fearful of a mainstream explosion out of them, and for that I hope they can maintain their small town flavor. Carbon Monoxide is a witty ditty that is probably the only song that doesnt fit completely with the cd's flow. Great song, just doesnt fit.
