I Remember Burning is a post-hardcore band from Mesa, Arizona. I Remember Burning was formed in December 2011 by Rio Stinger, Sam Stugan, and Todd Harding. Since then, the additions of bassist Sebastian Vargas and drummer Christian Reischauer have taken place. Through engaging live shows and passionately driven music, I Remember Burning is taking the local post hardcore scene by storm. The name I Remember Burning stems from the history of Joan of Arc. Her journey to becoming a saint included becoming a martyr: dying for what she believed in. After burning at the stake, she left a mark on history, allowing us to always remember to stand for something. We challenge you to remember what you stand for, and believe in something. The title of the EP is The Valley. While writing the lyrics and music for this record, a lot of key factors contributed to the writing process. We as a band went through changes, both emotionally and spiritually. We have made this place in Arizona, also called "the valley", our home in some form. Lyrically, Rio has written about how there truly is no place like your home and being with the people who truly love you. He describes the feelings of being both a lover and beloved. He touches on aspects of God and what it is like to come and go from religious belief. Lastly, he expands on how each person he has met is touching his life. Todd, Sebastian, Christian, and Sam have grown exponentially in their writing and ability to inspire others through the simple notes on a guitar, bass, or drum set. We invite you all to come into our lives and understand what it means to call somewhere home, especially in this valley.
