NYC in 1992, some girls were looking to form a rock band. They came upon this tall guy, solid drumming. Fast forward to Fall 1998. They had named themselves. They had toured. They had met the priceless many. They acquired the hottest lady drummer in town, from out of town. They had recorded over forty songs and a few of them were released. Some were lost. Some were on their first album, Heroines. Others were scattered. But they had a new batch. They laid them down in a hundred year old firehouse, and they were pleased. They had grown. There was still rock, but there was something deeper now: hints of elixirs, whispers as well as yelps, melodies clear and fuzzy, softer elements, and egg shaker, a whiff of the future. The craft of song refined. Out of the jungle of their years together and apart had crawled a beautiful record. A little girl, thinking about singing.
