简介
Inspired by common life experiences like struggling to sell a house or the simple joy of watching a child play with toys, LDS singer/songwriter Cherie Call shares her latest musical creations in her seventh CD “Grace.” Produced by Scott Wiley, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry in Los Angeles, Call’s music ranges from upbeat, hand-clapping pieces like River of Tears to her own soul-searching experiences expressed in songs like Still Small Voice and the title track Grace is Amazing. Call describes her music as inspirational pop-folk, drawing deeply on her beliefs as well as her many roles as a wife and mother, and keen observer of every-day life. “A lot of these songs have been written since I became a mom. Music and songwriting are my life, how I make sense of the world around me.” Call and her husband Joe had placed their house on the market during an economic downturn and nervously waited for nine months before it sold. They had already built a new house and were buried with two payments. During the ordeal she wrote Empty revealing the range of emotions familiar to many homeowners. Said Call, “Our old house had all of our stuff so it could be staged. Our new house was practically empty but had everything in it I loved the most – my family.” This is Call’s seventh album –her first since 2006. In the interim she has had two daughters and moved once. All 11 songs on the CD were written by Call, who acknowledged that while the refinement and writing took extra time, the actual recording was done in just weeks. “Scott Wiley is an amazing producer and I’ve really enjoyed teaming up with R Legacy Entertainment.”
