Melissa has performed her original music for 8 years throughout Alaska as a singer songwriter and with the acoustic group Homegrown. Her music is passionate and heartfelt, her voice smooth and powerful. She cites many influences; jazz to classic rock, that have shaped her repertoire. In January and February 2004 she toured Washington, Oregon and California with the "Melissa Mitchell Band". She recently opened for Cheryl Wheeler, and is currently working on a studio album due out in early 2005.
