简介
Though saving lives is already expected of her on a daily basis, Board Certified internist, anaesthesiologist and critical care physician/author Dr. Kiki Hurt is passionate in her conviction that music can be an effective tool in promoting health awareness on a level that significantly impacts society. With her new brand GlobalMusic4 Life, Dr. Hurt presents a business initiative to use music as a platform for health education by capitalizing on progressive marketing techniques devised according to current music industry and online trends. Though traditional music industry revenue streams (such as cd sales) have declined significantly over the past decade, the industry's revenues from licensing nonetheless totaled $6.3 billion in 2009. Meanwhile, music continues to exert a staggering hold on today's youth as it always has -- and arguably even moreso than ever via ubiquitous channels such as the internet, cell phone ring tones, APPS, and other lucrative licensing platforms. With GlobalMusic4 Life, Dr. Hurt has assembled a stable of artists that span popular genres like R&B, hip hop, and jazz, and aims to fill two voids simultaneously: the lack of existing music centered on health-related themes, and the lack of education among groups at risk for pandemic conditions like obesity, diabetes, etc. Dr. Hurt is firm in her conviction that it's time for health to become an educational priority in a country that incurs millions of annual deaths and billions in health care costs. Obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and diet contribute to a severe, many-tentacled health crisis that Dr. Hurt considers almost entirely preventable. (Precise figures are provided in the accompanying document.) She also feels it's time for music to be used to its fullest capacity as a driver of social change, as it has been for previous generations. What Dr. Hurt proposes is nothing short of a sweeping paradigm shift in the shape of an engine-like business model.. ©2011 OneLife4-Life, Ltd All Rights Reserved DELIVERING HEALTHCARE THROUGH MUSIC
