简介

“The vibe. It’s all about the vibe,” says up and coming saxophonist Dayve Stewart when describing how he wants his music to impact listeners. Anyone treated to his performances can’t deny the sensory rapture they come to know through his soulful sound. Mr. Stewart is new music for a new day that doesn’t forget from whence it came. Humanity is thankful for the day Mr. Stewart picked up the saxophone at the age of eleven, initiating his rise to new heights in the music industry. Passionate and versatile, he seamlessly fits the artistry bill by providing anything from an entire evening of entertainment, to soft background music, and dance numbers that move and groove all ages. Currently on tour with the legendary Reverend Al Green, Mr. Stewart is building his own career to be counted among the world’s jazz greats. This tour has already taken him all over North and South America and Europe with a host of locations to come. During his first touring engagement, Dayve captivated fans across America for more than a year with his show-stopping solo performance in the production, “I Can’t Stop Loving You” dedicated to the late great Mr. Ray Charles. Based in Tallahassee, Florida, Dayve has received several accolades from his local community. In September 2006, he was featured on the front page of theTallahassee Democrat for his exceptional and rewarding performances in the North Florida region. WCTV, a Tallahassee news station, showcased Mr. Stewart on the television broadcast “In the Spotlight.” Dayve attributes much of his unique, cosmopolitan style to his diverse background; a mix of Cuban (mother) and Jamaican (father.) A native of Tampa, Dayve has been recognized by his hometown for his achievements and has participated in many efforts to give back to his community. Mr. Stewart provides free saxophone lessons to at-risk children in conjunction with the Palm River Point Association and each year he can be found either performing or assisting with feeding the homeless projects with Metropolitan Ministries. He also returns home to serve as a performer, judge, and mentor with the NAACP’s ACT-SO, a program for youth in the arts and sciences which awarded him four gold medals in competitions at the local and national levels between 1997 and 2001. Mr. Stewart credits the many world-class musicians he has worked with along the way for laying the foundation of his skill. These include George Weremchuck and jazz pianists Marcus Roberts and Jason Marsalis. In addition, he was one of three saxophone players chosen in the US to study at the Vail Jazz Festival where he worked with Terell Stafford, The Clayton Brothers, Bill Cunliffe, and Craig Handy, just to name a few. Over the course of his still early career, Dayve’s name has become increasingly familiar among top jazz musicians. As a featured performer, Mr. Stewart has opened shows for Barry Manilow, Craig Chaquico, and Roy Ayers and has performed alongside Kirk Whalum and world-renowned jazz singer Dee-Dee Bridgewater. A dynamic and diverse musician, he’s also been heard at the ESPN Weekend at Disney World and Magic Kingdom. From national jazz festival performances to as far away as Japan, he has impressed audiences and musicians alike with his soul-stirring renditions of everything from blues to contemporary hip-hop. Among his endeavors into the world of hip-hop is his recent work on T-Pain’s Don’t Stop the Party recording. Also a stellar leader, Mr. Stewart started his own band in the summer of 2005 named Dayve Stewart and The Vibe. This talented array of players appears on his debut album entitled “Feel Me,” which offered the world its newest groove sound. The band currently keeps a busy schedule of exclusive performances at local and national venues. Their latest project, Feels So Good 2 B With You… is, as Dayve puts it, “All of those euphoric things that Feel So Good. Including you [my fans]! Being with you, performing for you. This is a new and fresh sound that will be played in your car, at work, in your home, and yes, even in the bedroom. I am very proud of this record. This CD will be a classic, and will be a standard in making feel good music. So when people listen to this record, don’t thank me, I owe you the thanks, because it Feels So Good to be with you. “I think the most important thing to me as far as my music is concerned, is the mood it creates, the impression it leaves, that one moment it helps you recall. And the vibe. It is all about the vibe.
