Swiss R&B singer of Nigerian origin, who continues to inspire great music, he has a flair of combining his exotic and melodious voice with Urban R&B influences to create very catchy tunes with great crossover appeal. From the first day he sang in the seminary school choir at the age of 10 back in his country of birth, his heart has never really been separated from this passion. "I do it for the love I have for music, I do it for my fans" Oakcee says. Time EP released in 2009 brought him to moderate limelight in Switzerland and beyond the bothers, radio airplays in Switzerland and UK, Radio interview, good reviews are the highlights of the recognition of his potential since he arrived on the scene. His music video of the song THIS GIRL appeared Swiss national television (SF1) and on UK satelite Television. Black Music Special presenter Sascha Rossier on Radio DRS3 Switzerland described the singer as Akon of Switzerland when his Single « This Girl » debuted on the radio. Born Okey Collins Anioke and raised in Nigeria in a very staunch Catholic home, Oakcee wanted to be a priest which led him to Sacred Heart Seminary high school at the age of ten, he ended up not becoming a priest but instead discovered his special gift of singing, while practicing gospel songs in the very reputable seminary school choir, this early exposure to gospel songs and later strong Urban R&B influences from the likes of Boyz II Men, Blackstreet, Joe, Mariah Carey, Luther Vandross and the legendary Bob Marley inspired an intense passion for singing and songwriting. Speaking with Ed Smart in a radio interview on the Big Breakfast Show on the 7th of November on RWSfm 103.3 Suffolk (UK), when his much talked about Single „ No More July“ a tribute song to Michael Jackson made its UK radio debut, « it has always been the same passion, I thought its something very special if you can express yourself in words,lyrics and melodies and be able to share this with the rest of the world » answering questions on what inspired him to rekindle his passion for music and start writing songs again when he moved to Switzerland after graduating from college in Nigeria. Oakcee collaborates with beat composers from USA and Germany and works with Swiss producer Matthias Hillebrand to craft his work. He writes all his songs with the TIME EP in 2009, he became so endearing to his fans because of his special and smooth vocal style pepped up with his melodious voice that simply reflects his exotic background. His Singles „This Girl“ and „Do Tha Thing“ have featured on various mixtapes in USA (Coast to Coast) , UK (Empire States Mixtapes), Doubleedged Mixtapes to mention but a few. At the swiss gospel contest final 2008, Oakcee was a backup vocalist for San Fransisco born gospel singer Lori Glori, they came third in the competition. Oakcee has performed in various clubs in Switzerland, he was the opening act for US R&B sensation Lloyd in 2009 at Zurich Westend club, he has also performed shows at Club OH, Club HEY, Max & Moritz, Crystal Lounge (Club Zurich) etc. Ths first Single CAN'T STOP ME from his upcoming album MY ADDICTION feat. Uk rap star Kasha will be released on 9th of July. The album itself is expected to hit the stores this 2011 summer.
