简介
BIO Named after the infamous worm found on the bottom of the mezcal bottle, a type of Mexican tequila drink. Gusano began their musical adventure with many purposes in mind. To make music with friends, to have fun, to enjoy what they love, to grow as a band, and to bring what nobody had brought to the Reno music scene; Spanish Rock. Gusano began as a Spanish rock cover band under the name of Nova Vox. Only two of the original Nova Vox remain. Emmanuel Caro, Guitar who in Nova Vox played Bass. Leonel Palomar, rhythm guitar, and lead vocals. Kris Trujillo, Drums joined the band towards the end of Nova Vox era. Another name worth mentioning is Luis Daniel Hernandez Ortega “mariachito” who unfortunately passed away on August, 2003. That is why Gusano is honored to dedicate this album in his loving memory. Nova Vox came to an end, the member’s took a break and then almost a year later Horacio Bernardino joined them on the bass and Emmanuel switched to lead guitar, and it was then, that the Gusano was born. Gusano began playing on Latin venues only. As their sound began to evolve the band started writing original material. Soon they found themselves playing on anglo venues. Their crowd also ex-pended, with anglo people and some of the original Latin crowd. They noticed more energy, more ful-fillments with original material and it was then that they decided to focus on their originality with the purpose of creating an album. Between their beginnings and the release of this CD; Gusano had many shows. From many local venues to Las Vegas. There are three very special shows one with Julieta Venegas on Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater. The Second with Ankla who’s founder is Puya’s ex-guitarist Ramon Ortiz, the same show also featured American Head Charge, and the third on the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino, on Grand Theatre, The World’s biggest Indoor Stage, with one of the Mexico’s most historic rock band, El Tri, who were on their 25th Anniversary Tour. Gusano’s main sound is hard rock, some metal perhaps, but it doesn’t stop there. Due to each of the members different musical background, Gusano’s sound ends up being a mixture of hard rock, with a little soft in between, with extravagant percussion rhythm that go from Latin to modern, samba to cumbia and a little more. That is the main reason why Gusano added their fifth member to their lineup. Ron Azenon, percussions. Gusano’s album is called Atrapado. Atrapado means Trapped. Just like the worm in the mezcal bottle is trapped, but it was put there for a reason, for the worm to come out and end up in somebody’s shot glass. Gusano the band, was also formed for a reason, by releasing this album it means that their bottle has been opened and the band will be released. Released into what? Nobody knows. What we know is that Gusano is an evolving band and it has been trapped in that bottle long enough. The bottle is open now ……… The release of Gusano has begun………..
