My earliest influence in harp music was Patrick Ball. I will never forget hearing his entrancing melodies floating to my ears in Rockin' Rudy's, then a tiny record and tape store in Missoula, a time before CD's. I bought the cassette tape immediately, but didn't actually buy my own harp and start playing it until 15 years later.

I have loved every minute of it. The harp is soothing; when I play I feel my anger and frustrations just float away.

People have told me they feel the same about listening to my new CD.

The ancient repertoire of the Celts forms the foundation of my harp playing, but because of my long history as a fiddler, some American hoedowns, rags, and even a country blues tune find their way onto the album.
